Roller loaders for DPD
RollerTrack telescopic roller conveyor for loading
To cope with a larger parcel capacity and increase effectivity, parcel distribution and delivery company DPD decided to extend their facilities in Raunheim, Germany in 2008. A completely new hall – No. 5 – was to be built. This would house 40 telescopic roller loaders with space for an additional 10, to cope with the expected growth in business. Furthermore hall 4, which already existed, was to be refurbished housing a further 32 telescopic roller loaders.

Usually installed at the tail end of a conveyor system, the RollerTrack extends through the door into a waiting trailer or container for ergonomic loading. Using the natural force of gravity, parcels travel over the zinc-coated steel rollers along the length of the conveyor. Transition from section to section is protected by an aluminium plate to prevent damage to parcels.
Telescopic movement can be powered or manual, which means that an electrical connection is not necessary. Powered versions are operated by means of a joystick. We recommend powered extension/retraction for machines with more than three sections for optimal safety.

Roller loader - the cost-effective way to load trailers
Often installing loaders is an expensive affair. Installing a roller loader with manual extension and retraction means that it is not necessary to have power at every single location. The saving can be multiplied by the number of doors being serviced.
In spite of the extreme extendibility of the roller loader, the footprint is very small. It can reach into all lorries and trailers, making it a cost-effective loading method.
